Long-standing Manchester Car & Van Hire specialists McGarry’s didn’t have much by way of a web presence. Their existing web page was a basic page put there by Yell. Simply so there would be something to direct an enquiry to.
So, We created a fully bespoke CMS. Next, we refreshed the logo and designed a slick new website to bring them into the digital era.
McGarry’s has been trading since 1979 and has relied on traditional advertising methods. They wanted the ability to add and edit vehicles on their website easily. Also, to display much more information about hiring a vehicle.
What We Did
With all our web projects, we assess the best CMS going forward. We felt that CakePHP would offer the most flexibility for future development. This would allow the option to move from a paper-based hire system and work this directly into the website.
Firstly we created a vehicle database around the clients’ needs, and then we created a bespoke CMS using only the data McGarry needed to display their vehicles. Finally, this was tied together by the search functionality at the front end. In some cases, even where simplicity is needed, a bespoke CMS fits the needs of the business over more popular content management systems on the market, and McGarry’s is one such example.
