FVS Fire Safety Custom WordPress Site & SEO

Fire safety engineers gain 300% more non brand search visibility

We rebuilt FVS website with a custom WordPress build focused on speed, UX, and search performance, driving a 50% rise in traffic and a 400% lift in non-brand search impressions.

Client

FVS Limited is an LPCB Level 3 fire sprinkler engineering firm based in the North West. Founded in 1982, the team designs, installs, tests and maintains sprinkler systems for residential and commercial projects across the UK.

Brief

FVS had a strong reputation through frameworks and referrals. Their website did not match that reality. It loaded in several seconds, hid key content behind a full-screen logo on mobile, and drove little organic traffic.

Our job was to replace a slow, brochure-style site with a fast, search-ready build that showcased FVS’s capability and supported new business conversations.

Solution

We recommended a bespoke WordPress build with a custom theme and Gutenberg, rather than a heavy page builder. This gave FVS a fast, stable site with a layout tailored to their services, photography, and project work, and the ability to make content edits without learning an entire design system.

Implementation

We built a lightweight custom WordPress theme and used Gutenberg for page layout. Core blocks keep the design consistent and cut code bloat.

The site structure mirrors FVS’s four core services: design, installation, service and testing. Each service area has its own template, with cross-links into related services and a clear path to contact FVS.

Project, sector, and service pages use full-width imagery, video, and case studies to showcase the scale and quality of FVS installations. Every key page ends in a direct call or email action so that site visits can turn into enquiries.

We delivered the original build and launch optimisation. Ongoing changes now sit with the client team.

Result

Page speed dropped to around 1.8 seconds through a lean codebase and optimised imagery.

Since launch, FVS has seen:

  • Over 50% growth in overall traffic

  • Around 90% of visits from new users

  • Bounce rate cut by 31% (at time of launch, this is no longer a metric in 2026)

  • A 300% increase in impressions for non-brand search terms

The site now ranks for a broad set of fire sprinkler and fire safety queries, rather than only the brand name. FVS holds a faster, more visible platform that supports new conversations with main contractors, developers and housing providers.

Our Build Approach

FVS needed speed and control, so we used a hand-coded theme. This removed the need for a big learning curve and gave their team a simple, block-based editing experience.

We offer three WordPress solutions, best suited to the following areas, but not limited to:

Growth

For growing teams investing in SEO, content and paid search, but still wanting the freedom of a visual editor. We build in Bricks, keep the codebase lean and give you a library of reusable components. You can launch landing pages and campaigns quickly, while speed, structure, and tracking remain intact.

Scale

For organisations that treat the website as infrastructure. High traffic, serious SEO plans, deeper integrations, multi-region or multi-brand setups. We hand-code themes, keep moving parts tight, and design for scale: performance, stability, security and long-term growth.

We recommend platform builds for projects with a clear business case and budget to match. If your needs sit lower than that, we recommend Launch or Growth instead.

Launch

For businesses that need a sharp, credible site on a lighter investment. We use a visual editor option called Elementor. We design reusable sections with your brand’s visuals, which allow your team to manage the site and quickly push new content. If you need more sections, pages, or a tidy-up at a later date, we can do that.
